Viewing stones are appreciated by their decorative value, and are naturally found in rivers, oceans, or lakes. Popular types of viewing stones suggest a mountain, a waterfall, an island, a thatched hut or an animal. Includes a hand-carved wooden daiza stand. Stone pictured is the actual stone that will ship.

This unique stone was sourced from the Gobi Desert. Possibly made of chalcedony, the shiny patina of the surface of the stone is called "desert varnish", a natural effect caused by the high sand-laden winds of the desert and the silica content of the stone. Includes custom wooden daiza base, carved in a decorative style that is typical of northern China. This stone has been appraised by the Viewing Stone Associaton of North America (VSANA).
