Bonsai application: We recommend using garden gypsum to increase the acidic levels of your soil. Garden gypsum is also used to remove excess sodium from the soil and adding calcium. This will reduce crusting, improve water run-off and erosion. Garden gypsum is helpful for a variety of tree species most notably Japanese maples and Azaleas. Gypsum can be used to decrease leaf burn during hotter months and where water levels are more alkaline. Espoma Garden Gypsum is recommended to be applied twice a year for salt water damage; apply second application 30 days after the first application.
