 
The Eastern Leaf Story Founded in the summer of 2004 by Jason, a struggling law school student, and Renee, a CPA candidate, Eastern Leaf started as a small vendor selling lucky bamboo arrangements at local open air markets in San Diego. Despite San Diegos reputation of sunny skies, it rained nearly every Sunday during the market. Originally planned as only a method to help pay for the costs of law school living expenses, Eastern Leaf gained popularity and quickly became a thriving business with much more potential. By the end of 2004, increased customer interest lead the company to launch its website and venture into the online realm.
Foregoing sleep during the weekend of October 15-17, 2004, Jason designed, programmed, and launched the online store. The first online order occurred merely moments after the site went live.
Since then, Jason and Renee married in August 2005. Renee received her CPA license in October 2007. Jason graduated from the University of San Diego, School of Law in May 2008. In July 2008, Eastern Leaf moved to a much larger warehouse enabling it to hold a larger variety of products including a broader selection of trees in its nursery. Eastern Leaf has established itself as one of the leading mail order catalog and online retailers of alternative gift plants including bonsai trees, lucky bamboo, orchids, and home accessory gifts. Eastern Leafs products have appeared in various magazines and publications including the Las Vegas Journal, Domino Magazine as well as an appearance on the television show Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Eastern Leaf has also served numerous clients, helping many of them promote an eco-friendly message. Their products have also been widely distributed at weddings and parties as event favors. As the company and staff grew, the goal remained the same; to provide everyone a simple and enjoyable shopping experience with individual personalized service.
