Training wire can make it easy for those looking to create a custom shape with their bonsai. Simply wrap the branches with the wire and bend your branches or position them into a desired shape. Use it to spread and arrange branches in pads or layers or create heavy bends. Wire is also useful for creating guy wires when needing to hold down branches.

We recommending using a wire that is 1/3 to 1/2 of the thickness of the branch you are trying to bend. A quick trick to tell what type of wire to use is to push the wire against the branch. If the wire moves the branch, the wire is thick enough. If the branch moves the wire, then you may need to go with a thicker gauge.
